Does Trauma Therapy Work?

EMDR is an evidenced-based approach (meaning there's evidence to prove it works) to deal with many things-trauma, depression, anxiety, fears, obsessions, and more. This approach is a great form of treatment in many cases. Check out the video below for more information.
EMDR has done incredible things regarding trauma for many people. People often think of trauma as things like sexual assault or experiences veterans have in war. These often are traumatic, but they are not the only traumas people experience. I encourage people to not worry about the label of it and just consider if it has an impact now. A more helpful view is does it 1) change the way we think of ourselves, 2) change the way we think of others, and/or 3) change the way we experience the world. This helps us not be so limiting in our understanding and just focus on fixing the problem and the things that go along with it. |
